Beaufort’s Waterbug Tours cruises into 16th season

When Bob Rust launches the Waterbug in Taylor’s Creek this weekend, he will be starting his 16th year offering tours on the Beaufort, North Carolina waterfront. In that time, the Waterbug has become one of the most popular tours on The Crystal Coast.

Capt. Bob started Waterbug Tours in 2003. His knowledge of the local waters has translated into a great tour for visitors along the Beaufort waterfront.

The Waterbug is a retired U.S. Navy captain’s launch making it perfect for those going in search of local wildlife.

Capt. Bob Rust starts his 16th season on the historic Beaufort waterfront.

The 16-passenger vessel comes complete with cushioned seating and a covered top providing shade on the boat. Its unique blue and white facade is a familiar scene as visitors cruise the creek.

All tours are led by USCG-licensed captains with extensive local knowledge. Captains are trained in first aid and CPR.

Capt. Bob and Capt. Peggy take visitors on the popular Wild Horse, Nature & History Cruise. It has truly become Waterbug’s signature cruise! You’ll enjoy this narrated cruise.

The daily 45-60 minute shaded cruise of the calm waters tke you down Taylor’s Creek and provides an up close look at Rachel Carson Reserve. They offer eight (8) trips a day (in-season).

“When my husband and I came to Beaufort for the first time, we wanted to see the town from the water. The Waterbug was the first activity we took in Beaufort,” stated Betsy Cartier, co-owner of Hungry Town Tours. He will also tell you about the best places to eat and the local sights not to miss!

“Bob’s tour pretty much convinced us to move here,” she said.

“Can’t say enough about how excellent this tour is — would recommend it over the other water tours that were available. Reasonably priced and would go so far as to say that if you don’t take this particular tour, you have missed a rare opportunity.” – guest, October 2017.

Your professional and personable captain not only safely navigates the vessel, but also guides you along the way, answering any questions you might have and making sure your group is comfortable and welcomed.

Waterbug Tours is a unique experience in that the tours are personalized and not a scripted loudspeaker experience.
